The Infamous ‘DEA Agent Shoots Self in Foot’ Video
A Civic-Minded DEA Agent is conducting a presentation in a classroom of school students, presumably to educate them about the dangers of drugs, gangs, guns, and so forth.
He unholsters his handgun, locks the slide back, and verifies with an off-camera partner that the weapon is unloaded.
He begins waving the gun in the air, announcing that “I am the only person in this room professional enough … to carry this here Glock Foh-ty.”
He then proceeds to shoot himself in the foot.
Yep, that gun was unloaded all right. Well, let’s rephrase: the chamber was empty. That is, until he released the slide, stripping a round from the loaded magazine, making the gun loaded and ready to fire.
After inflicting a gunshot wound on himself, he now wants to demonstrate a rifle! But the kids in the class say “NO WAY! Put the rifle down! We learned our lesson!” Gotta admit, kids are not as dumb as I thought.
I can’t however, say the same for the agent. He says, “I made a mistake … accidents happen …” But, that was no accident. Accidents happen because of some event outside of our control. The only element out of control was himself.
HE is the one dropping the slide on a loaded mag, HE is the one with his finger on the trigger, HE is the one responsible for shooting himself (and thankfully, only himself).
